CRUSADER CLASS

There are times when heavier SLF-capable combat ships are not suitable to the task for one reason or another (rebuy cost isn't worth the risk, cost to get the ship to the combat site doesn't justify the effort, etc), so DSE operates an Alliance Crusader, the fighter bay-compatible variant of the Chieftain, for use as a supplimental patrol and security ship when fighter support is required.

A sluggish and underarmed ship when flown stock, the Crusader really comes alive after even the most rudimentary engineering to its thrusters and power plant. In its current state, it's an effective gunship, especially when paired with an SLF.

I really liked having it look as much like the stock Chieftain as possible, for some reason, so I repainted the blue-with-yellow-trim hull with a nice Tactical Ice job.
